Teachers’ Courses

Teachers’ Courses are led by Judith Godfrey, Principal of Manchester Language School, supported by specialist teachers and lecturers as required.

Judith has directed summer language courses at the University of Manchester for 25 years. She also co-directed the ACE Puppetry in Education project with Stephanie Aldred. ACE promoted language learning through arts activities for children in primary and secondary schools. The project also worked with teachers in training institutions and universities developing creative methodologies. Judith currently provides specialist workshops and demonstrations on a variety of themes for practising and trainee teachers from abroad.  She has worked with teachers from France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Japan.

Judith Godfrey and Stephanie Aldred (Senior Lecturer in Educational Development at Manchester Metropolitan University) have collaborated on a number of course books and audio tapes including ‘Here and Now’ – a course book for summer vacation courses, ‘Here and Now Documentaries’ – a more advanced book for students ready to work with authentic English texts and ‘Literary Landscapes’, an overview of the history of English literature specially designed for students of English as a foreign language.
